It sometimes happens. A few hours after my first and only dose of oxycontin (20 mgs), I developed a rash like a mild sunburn without itching all over my face, neck and arms. It was relieved by taking 25 ml of Benadryl liquid. My physician discontinued the medication and I was prescribed hydrocodone (vicodin) instead.
