Mat awakens, and cannot tell if the thoughts of battles and Moiraine are dreams. Everything is bits and fragments. He thinks of a battle, where he is giving commands and knows that he must win or die. Mat does not know if this is real but he is known as a gambler. Mat remembers Moiraine and knows something of Shadar Logoth, and a dagger. Something about going to Tar Valon to be Healed. Mat finds the tray with enough food to feed four men, and realizes how hungry he is. He has to find out where he is, first, though. It must be Tar Valon since that is the only place he could be Healed. They used the Power on me, but he can’t worry about it now, it’s done and it's better than dying.
