Chancery is a term used by the Colonials to refer to a casino. Before Carillon was destroyed at the Battle of Carillon, the Ovions of the planet had many chanceries they used to attract gamblers. The chanceries were a trap, however, as the gamblers ended up being used as food for the Ovions.(BSG: Saga of a Star World)
