Thermionic transconductance was the subject of a paper written by Bolian Starfleet officer Hars Adislo in the 2370s, which he presented to the Nel Bato Conference in 2374. While hosting an Evoran delegation on the USS Enterprise-E in 2375, Adislo bumped into Jean-Luc Picard, and asked if the Starfleet captain had had a chance to read the paper. (Star Trek: Insurrection)
