There are two types of Half-Elf, those born to an elven father and human mother, and those born to a human father and an elven mother. If the half-elf's mother is elven, that Half-Elf is immortal like the elves, resistant to disease and incapable of dying of natural causes. If, however, the mother is human, that Half-Elf will be mortal like humans, though their natural lifespan is increased to between 250 and 500 years and they are more resistant to diseases and natural illnesses.
