Laneet Chekkoo was a female Rodian who lived on the planet Rodia and was a part of the Chekkoo clan. Shortly after the Battle of Yavin, she met the aspiring Jedi and pilot Luke Skywalker when he came to Chekkoo Enclave seeking to purchase weapons for the Alliance to Restore the Republic. She led Skywalker to Toopil, a secret base, and introduced him to Taneetch Soonta, sales executive for armament manufacturer Utheel Outfitters.
