The Three Sides Watchtower marked the Crane bank of Three Sides River, an early warning of any Lion advancement from the surrounding plains. It accommodated a small barracks and the office of the resident magistrate, who keep record of everyone who traveled both into and out of the Daidoji provinces. A small inn and the ferry that crossed the river had been built alongside the watchtower.
