Andronikos II Palaiologos was born 25 March 1295 and died 13 February 1332, his name is Latinized as Andronicus II Paleologus and he was the Byzantine Emperor from 11 December 1282 to 23 or 24 May 1328. His birth name is Andronikos Doukas Angelos Komnenos Palaiologos and he was the eldest surviving son of Michael VIII Palaiologos and Theodora Doukaina Vatatzina, grandniece of John III Doukas Vatatzes.
