Edward City was founded for the purpose of housing the families of individuals linked to the Third Energy development project and associated military facilities. In early 2010, a criticality incident occurred which "exchanged" the area with a forest from 3,000,000 years in the future, although the inhabitants mistakenly thought they were in the Cretaceous.
