Witches in Skyrim are female mages training to become Hagravens, and often serve under them. Witches can be one of five races (Altmer, Breton, Dunmer, Imperial, Nord), depending on their Destruction magic specialization. Legend has it that Witches who have earned the praise of Hagravens and have studied for many years will have the opportunity to become Hagravens themselves. Witches are essentially female magic-users that worship a Daedric Prince with or without a coven.
