In 2252, Vulcan Lieutenant T'Pris, in her fourth year of Starfleet service, transferred from Musashi to the Constitution-class USS Enterprise under Captain Christopher Pike. (TOS novel: Vulcan's Glory ) This ship might be named after the battleship Musashi of the Imperial Japanese Navy, itself named after the province in Japan. This was also the name of historical figure Miyamoto Musashi.
