Female player characters who got engaged to Brand in the Throne of Miscellania have the option of marrying him during Blood Runs Deep. Prince Brand and Princess Astrid are killed by the Dagannoth Kings toward the end of the quest, and are cremated in pyre ships. If you do the Throne of Miscellania quest as a female character and Blood Runs Deep as a male, Prince Brand will acknowledge your gender change; when you speak to him on Brundt's boat after the battle of Rellekka, he says, "Ah, ____, how I wish you were still a woman. You were such a great muse."
