The Swallow System was a star system in the Verge of the Solarian League, just south of the Talbott Cluster and east of the Saltash System. In 1922 PD, it was a republic ruled by an authoritarian regime, which itself was largely in the pockets of the powerful Solarian Tallulah Corporation and the Office of Frontier Security. Through President Rosa Shuman's rigorous tariff policy, every other company was effectivly shut out of the Swallow trade, forcing all the system's four billion inhabitants to buy from and sell to Tallulah.
