Every time Matryoshka is hit, burned, struck by lightning, etc., he doubles himself. Every time he splits he gets smaller and dumber. Additionally each subsequent division the copies are weaker than the original. Due to the nature of his ability he is very hard to hurt and heals very fast. All of his smaller "copies" need to be tied together to be reabsorbed into Ivan.
