Swoop racing was a high-speed spectator sport that was carried out using swoop engines modified for racing at higher speeds, sometimes up to six hundred kilometers per hour. During the time of the Jedi Civil War, swoop racers did not race against each other but rather they raced against the previously established best time. However, after many years, swoop racing did become a sport where racers went against one another at the same time, and it was that way during the Invasion of Utapau.
