As in the other games of the series, the Age of Mythology Town Center is the starting building in the game and the most important one. This is because it is where worker units are trained and Age Advances are researched. In addition, each culture can train certain other units and research certain myth technologies at the Town Center (see below.) This building is also the default drop-off site, though it is mostly used by herders and farmers.
