The Skyrr-Metalondrian War occurred approximately a couple of hundred years before the events of the novels (based on it being witnessed by Loogan's five-times great grandfather. The final and most vicious battle of the war was fought outside Tai-tastigon on a plain afterwards named the Plain of Bones, on account of the quantity of human remains left scattered there. The war ended in a truce, deciding that the city should be made a charter city, jointly ruled and made to pay taxes to both sides.
