The Pushmi-pullyu was also seen briefly in the film version of Dr. Dolittle, one of only a few references outside the main story concept that was lifted from the original stories by Hugh Lofting. One half of the Pushmi-pullyu was puppeteered by Lynn Robertson Bruce, who had previously worked on both Buddy and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
