It has replaceable charges, though there are now only four shots in each one, and it takes several seconds to reload. Its power is actually increased so that it can destroy the equivalent of two Scorpion tanks with one direct hit. The Habilis helped considerably by assisting Humans in developing a Span Laser, which allows the barrel of the weapon to absorb some of the intense heat from the laser charging sequence, offering additional ventilation, and also to manipulate the light energy by a series of tiny channeler devices on the tip of the barrel, enabling the laser beam to be larger than the actual barrel.
