Jet showed the hideout to Aang, Katara, and Sokka, shortly after raiding a Fire Nation encampment in the woods. When Aang and Katara aided Jet in filling the nearby dam with water, the latter secretly plotting to flood Gaipan, the two were told to meet Jet back at the treetop hideout. However, Katara insisted on heading to the dam rather than the treetop hideout as planned, believing Jet would be glad to see them.
