Xi You Ji, or Journey to the West advance it is more commonly known by, is a classic novel in Chinese mythology. It focuses on the adventure of main character Sun Wukong. His mischievous acts of going to Heaven and causing trouble made Buddha punish him by trapping him in a mountain for 500 years. He was released after he promised to help a Buddhist monk go from China to India to obtain Buddhist holy books. On their journey, they face many obstacles and have many adventures.
