On July 1, 2016 the Twentynine Palms Fire Department was taken over by the San Bernardino County Fire Department. They are now South Desert Division Station 44 (Adobe Road) and Station 43 (Lear Avenue). Station 43 is closed used only for vehicle storage and Station 44 is staffed with a Captain, Engineer and Paramedic Firefighter.
