Long after its closure in the early-mid 20th Century, the Piccadilly Line station was re-purposed by the Secret Intelligence Service as a Q Branch laboratory and meeting location for abandoned spies. While its name and usage by SIS would seem to position the station near the SIS Building, the entrance Bond utilizes is located approximately 2 km away at the south-east end of Westminster Bridge, just opposite Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.
