In 2268, the Memenda served as the flagship of Commander Liviana Charvanek as part of a three-ship taskforce under her command which surrounded and temporarily captured the USS Enterprise as it entered the Neutral Zone. The Memenda's cloaking device was stolen by members of the Enterprise's crew, who also captured Commander Charvanek. (TOS episode: "The Enterprise Incident"; TOS novels: The Romulan Way, Honor Blade) Later, Charvanek would remember the Memenda as a mere "Klingon monstrosity", greatly preferring her subsequent command, the IRW Honor Blade.
