No member of the Templars of Twilight who were not members of the Council of Twilight could hold this rank. However members who held this rank, and then stepped down from the council did not have relinquish the rank. A Grand Twilight General could command upwards of 50,000 troops, support personnel, vehicles, and equipment at any given time. The insignia for a Grand Twilight General was four carmine five pointed stars.
