The Yamato sector was an area of space in the northern fringes of the explored part of the Unknown Regions. The sector's only notable planet was Sengoku, the capital. Sengoku was ruled by feudal warring states, and though the planet was the recognized capital, the Galactic Republic warned citizens not to go there due to the violence. Officially, however, the sector remained independent of any government, even after the Republic's demise. The Yuuzhan Vong attempted two invasions of the sector.
