Zilwicki was commanding officer of a starship with the rank of Captain. She was married to Anton Zilwicki, a fellow RMN officer. They had one daughter whose name was also Helen, after her mother. Captain Zilwicki died in 1905 PD, defending a convoy of three merchantmen and two freighter-transports which carried over six thousand civilian and Navy technicians along with their families, including her husband and daughter, against Havenite raiders.
