The Third War of the Races, also known as the War of the Warlock Lord, is the conflict that is chronicled in The Sword of Shannara. It is the third attempt by Brona, the Warlock Lord, to subjugate all the Races to his rule. The war occurs five hundred years after the Second War of the Races and ends when the Warlock Lord is killed by Shea Ohmsford, who wielded the same sword as Jerle Shannara did in the Second War of the Races—the Sword of Shannara.
