He was originally trained by Dory Funk Jr. at the Funking Conservatory in spring of 2005. After a year or so of working shows, he decided to go and get re-trained and to get some polishing at Florida Extreme Wrestling's "House of Pain" by Bam Bam Mancuso and Jamie Noble.
