Kobold the Wise was a legendary ruler, who unified the scattered peoples of the Deepwoods under a confederation known as the Thousand Tribes. His wise leadership led to an era of equanimity and erudition later known as the Time of Enlightenment. However, the arrival of the Mother Storm brought an end to this period, leaving the Deepwoods back in their fragmented and primitive state. Cowlquape idolized Kobold the Wise, and he gained many intuitions from reading about him and his ancient teachings and beliefs. Kobold's Mount, a district of the City of Riverrise is named after him.
