The Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, usually simply called the Sacramento Delta is an Inverted river delta east of the outlet through the Coast Range from the Central Valley where the Sacramento River empties into San Francisco Bay. It is an area of great significance in the management of the waters of California, as a great deal of water is diverted from the water-rich Sacramento Basin. The waters which flow into the delta drain much of the interior of California.
