Phil Croft appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly as Returning Officer Norman McLeod in the St. Mary's Ward by-election contested in July 1998; and he returned to the programme in December 2002 as a Customs Officer who stopped Steve and Karen McDonald on a routine drugs check on arrival back to Manchester Airport from Tenerife. Other credits include roles in Life Without George, London's Burning, A Touch of Frost, Peak Practice, Where the Heart Is, Heartbeat, Dalziel and Pascoe, Citizen Khan, Emmerdale and the 1993 film Bhaji on the Beach.
