The Destroid Phalanx (official designation SDR-04-Mk XII), also known as the Spartan (not to be confused with the Destroid Spartan ), was a Destroid fielded by the United Earth forces during the First Robotech War. Phalanxes were involved in the training of RDF pilots. (Robotech: Battlecry) The Phalanx was capable of limited space operations due to its vernier thrusters. This allowed for units that were stationed on the deck of the SDF-1 to propel themselves back to the battlefortress if they were knocked off.
