Tsuyuge was the lieutenant of the oyabun at Otosan Uchi, Ide Tenseko, prior to the Scorpion Coup. He was a short and rosy fellow who owned the Inn of the Last Cherry Blossom in the Kanjo district, and also worked as a tea merchant. He had several high-ranking contacts as Isawa Tenjaku of the Sentaku Tribunal and Kakita Yinobu in the Imperial Court.
