Nation Song Contest 97 was the 97th edition of the Nation Song Contest and was hosted for the second time in a row by Serenate & Clair after they won on home turf in the previous edition. This marked the first instance of one nation hosting two editions of the contest in a row since Scorpionia achieved the same feat in contests 44 and 45. 8 nations opted out of this edition for various reasons but Vedatistan returned after their break and Brughentwerp and Orangualia both returned after not entering last edition.
