Lyrel was the second wife of King Austin. In an attempt to take the throne for herself, she plotted the death of her husband with the wizard Aureil (who hired Sam II for the final deed). After the death of Austin, the self-proclaimed Queen had to face the hostile forces of Prince Ian, the eldest son of Austin, from a previous marriage. Eventually, Ian was victorious and became the successor of his father.
