The Moab sector was a region of space. The Moab system, containing a Human colony on Moab IV, was located in this sector. As of 2368, no ships were ever reported missing in the sector. In 2368 a stellar core fragment from a neutron star passed through this sector, threatening the colony on Moab IV. (TNG: "The Masterpiece Society" ) The Star Trek Encyclopedia (4th ed., vol. 2, p. 49) described the Moab sector as a region of Federation space. According to the script, the pronunciation for Moab was "MOH-ub". [1]
