Longlands House was an 8 storey tower block on Beach Road in the Balsall Heath area of Birmingham. The block stood on an area of land formerly occupied by terraced housing near to the junction of Beach Road and Alfred Road. The tower block was built in 1958 by the Five Oaks Estate Company for Birmingham City Council, and contained 32 flats numbered 1-12 and 14-33. In May 1981, the block was the location of a four hour armed siege after gang members robbed Ladypool Road Post Office of £600 and escaped to the block where police then surrounded them.
