For hundreds of years after his death, the holocron would remain in Volen's tomb in the Valley of the Sith Lords on Korriban before being excavated by members of the Jedi Order and safely stored away. After being handled for thousands of years, the holocron was eventually returned to Volen's resting place on Korriban around 4 BBY. Due to the information it possessed, Volen's holocron was heavily sought out by countless Jedi and Sith and even fought over in some cases. However, even when in the possession of others, the holocron's information would only be accessed by those it considered powerful, therefore dramatically decreasing the number of individuals said to have learned its secrets.
