Summer Cohen (née Roberts) lived in Newport Beach with her father, plastic surgeon Dr. Neil Roberts. For much of the series, she has also lived with a stepmother, who was prone to mood swings and various addictive pills. She was often seen with her best friend,Marissa Cooper.
