"Despise" is the last of the 5 tracks that appear on the Demo released in 1998. It also appears on the Digipak version of "Slipknot's self titled album". Some of the lyrics to "Despise" were removed, and some others were rewritten, much like the song Interloper. "Despise" later evolved into "Purity", the last song recorded for Slipknot. When the album got re-released in December 1999, "Purity" was removed from the album, but later re-appeared on Disasterpieces.
