The Standard missile is a relatively small missile used by warships. One of the many types of missiles to be launched from a Standard missile launcher. At first they were armed with nuclear warheads before being replaced by antimatter warheads during the Theban War. Their range is about 10 light seconds. The standard missile is used on all but the most specialized warships. A Battleship with pure standard missile armaments such as the Belleisle-B class Battleship can mount 24 launchers. Larger ships can mount even more. The Arduans had a special type of missile that was the size of a standard missiles but had the range of an SBM.
