Mortimer Mouse is the longtime rival of Mickey Mouse. He is an obnoxious and arrogant rat who openly berates Mickey and tries to steal Minnie Mouse from him. Mortimer first appeared in the Mickey short Mickey's Rival and has been battling Mickey for Minnie's affections ever since.
