The Dessarin River has its headwaters in the High Forest and the Lost Peaks. As it flows west it meets the Surbin River on its journey south at the town of Yartar and the Evermoor Way The following is from The Dessarin River, a book within the game Neverwinter Nights. Long ago, before there were roads anywhere north of Tethyr, the Dessarin was known as the Road to the North. The river reaches up past Waterdeep to the Evermoors, and into the eastern end of the Spine of the World.
