Var'Unk was the last surviving member of the Whiphids following the Yuuzhan Vong War. He had grown up with the knowledge that the best friend of his people was the Avenger of the Jedi. Since he had relocated them to a better home after the devastation brought to their home by the Vong. He was very joyful when he encountered the Avenger in person and was even more excited when he became his padawan.
