Esquire was an American magazine aimed at men, containing fiction and men's fashion, and first published in 1933. Indiana Jones was a subscriber to the magazine, and in 1938, after returning to Barnett College from a trip to recover the Cross of Coronado, he quickly sifted through his accumulated mail in his office, bypassing some newsletters and a copy of Esquire for a package sent from Venice.
