Elizabeth "Lillie" Bacharach (née Owens) (1901-1971), was briefly a Labour Party alderman of the London County Council 1964 - 1965 elected to fill a casual vacancy on 2 June 1964. A seamstress, in 1931 she married Alfred Louis Bacharach (1891-1966) a food chemist and editor of the Penguin series Lives of the Great Composers: the couple met through their shared interest in left wing politics.
