Teutsch was a walk-on free agent with the South Zealand Pirates in 1903 and would be named 1904 Zealand League Rookie Of the Year. Teutsch would sign a series of contracts with South Zealand until 1909 when he set a record for salary at the time, signing a five-year deal with Brisbane for ƒ18,500 per year. He would go on to sign a six-year extension with the Argonauts in 1914. In 1922, he would be traded to Arkham and would later be sent to Melbourne as part of the monumental Peter Gresko trade. Teutsch would finish his career with a variety of teams in Brisbane, Sydney and Lambton Quay.
