Joe wants Christine to ring her father to tell him the news but she doesn't want to tell him at all. Henry asks Joe about his plans for Christine's engagement ring, he advises him on a place in Bradford and offers to take them over. He tries to talk to Christine later about a ring but she's adamant she doesn't want one. Annie tells Christine that she thinks she should let Joe buy her a ring if he wants to. Amos is forced to share Henry's bed when his water bottle bursts in the night. The following day, Sam haggles a table off Wally Lumm. Matt, Joe, Henry and Dry have a drink in The Woolpack. Matt leaves halfway through his drink when Henry mentions seeing Alison.
