Ral-tu Varn, later known as one of the Heroes of Tython, the Outlander, and the Alliance Commander, was a very powerful Jedi Knight and later Jedi Master who battled the resurgent Sith Empire during the Cold War and subsequent renewed war. Born approximately two decades into the Great Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire, Ral-tu was trained under several masters across the galaxy during the Cold War before being sent to the Jedi Order's homeworld of Tython in 3,643 BBY. There, he was taken on as a Padawan by Orgus Din along with another padawan Sibbons Donlar, during the conflict with the native Flesh Raiders. On Tython Ral-tu and Sibbons became as close as brother's and they earned loyal companions, a Glided Flutterplume which they named Wings, an MT-4T Astromec
